Febriphobia is the fear of fver. The origin of the word febri is Latin meaning fever and phobia is Greek meaning fear. Febriphobia is considered to be a specific phobia.Febriphobia is an intense, irrational fear of fever or of any rise in body temperature. The febriphobic individual may interperet any rise in temperature as a sing of serious illness. one could logically conclude that this phobia include an overwhelming fear of becoming.
What Causes Febriphobia?
As is the case with all phobias. the person coping with febriphobia has experienced a real-ilfe trauma. that traumatic experiene is then associated with fever and a rise in body temperature.The febriphobic person ay have had a fever that actually was indicative of a serious illiness.Whatever the cause, the febriphobic person can experience aniety and emotional turmoil that can completely top their ability to function on a daily basis.
Symtoms :-
The symptoms of febriphobia are as individual as the people coping with this phobia. some people when confronted with their fear of fever, may feel uncomfortable nauseated or begin to perspire. At the other end of the sectrum, other people are so severely impacted by this phobia that they may experience crippling anxiety and panic attack the symptoms are heightened senses, breathlessness,feeling dizzy, muscle tension a dry mouth trembling hyperventilation rapid hearbeat feeling out of control, feeling trapped and unable to escape, overwhelming feelng of anticipated danger.
Treatment :-
When the fear of fever and rise in body temperature becomes so intense as to disrupt an individual's ability to function daily, there are a number of different ways to treat febriphobia ,exposure therapy, hypnotherapy.
Hypnoanalysis:-
Hypnoanalysis (Hypnotherapy) is a type of therapy by which a person, with the assistance of a trained specialist, has his/her subconscious mind opened to suggestion for the purpose of changing one or more behavior patterns. When the subconscious is spoken to directly, it may be possible to find the issue triggering their phobia and introduce new ideas and positive suggestions. These positive suggestions may then be used to help make the changes you desire. Teaching the mind to attach different feelings to their feared item can usually be accomplished in a several sessions. Some people do not like people playing with their minds. However, hypnoanalysis (hypnotherapy) is considered to be safe and works fast. Hypnoanalysis (Hypnotherapy) has been approved as a method of therapy since 1958 by the American Medical Association.
