Ephebiphobia is the fear of young people or teenagers. The origin of the word ep is Greek meaning upon or at heb is Greek meaning puberty and phobia is Greek meaning fear. with this phobia older adults suffer from an irrational fear of teenagers and young adults. They beliveve they are poorly raised criminals and are afraid of them and what they might do. Because youth access to handguns, the rise in territorial youth gangs and crimes have risen steadily over past decades, Ephebiphobia sufferer's beliveve that this is proof that teens should be feared.because not all older adults suffer from this phobia.clear what causes.

What Causes Ephebiphobia?

This fear is unique in teat in most cases a teen will compley with the request of an adult they perceive as an authority figure. however notable exceptions that have been either personnaly observed, discussed with friends or veiwed on television and in movies can alter the perspective of an individula.It is generally accepted that phobias arise from a combination of external events (i.e. traumatic events) and internal predispositions (i.e. heredity or genetics). Many specific phobias can be traced back to a specific triggering event, usually a traumatic experience at an early age. Social phobias and agoraphobia have more complex causes that are not entirely known at this time.

Symptoms:-

An individual with this fear may not willingly have children of their own. They may panic if there appears to be the potential for confrontation with a teenager.  The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, dread and anything associated with panic such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, inability to articulate words or sentences, dry mouth and shaking.
