For many people the church is a place of refuge, solace and strength. This is a place where they may feel comforatable and closer to god church is a place of beauty and community. yet for some the church represents a mirror on their personal failures, and a reminder of a deity they don't believe they can ever fear and that can become ecclesiophobia.Ecclesiophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little orno actual danger. While adults with ecclesiophobia realize that these fears are irrational, they often find that facing, or even thinking about facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety.
Symptoms :-
Those who struggle most with this fear will visibly tense when they coe in visual contact with a church building. This might be expected, but they may also tense in the presence of a recognized pastor or those known to attend church. The symtpoms are Breathlessness, dizziness, excessive sweating, nauesa, dry mouth, feeling sick, shaking, heart palpitations, inability to speak or think clearly, a fear of dying, becoming mad or losing control, a sensation of detachment from reality or a full blown anxiety attack.
