Doxophobia is the fear of expressing opinions or of receving praise. The origin of the word dox is Greek menaing opinion and phobia is Greek meaning fear Doxophobia is Considered to be a specific phobia.Doxophobia is the name given to both the fear of receiving praise and giving a personal opinion.they have had prior experiences of having an opinion rejected and demeaned. it is possible that such rejection had a negative effect on their self esteem and the anxiety and fear triggered by  having to give an opinion could turn into a phobia that included a fear of being praised.

What Causes Doxophobia?

Anxieties that develp into true doxophobia can cause anxiety symptoms of dizziness, nervousness, shaking, breathing difficulties, crying, and panic attacks. Although some doxophobic people are quite successful career wise, but there is always the possibility of severe anxiety being triggered.For reasons they may not fully understand themselves the doxophobe would rather endure self-doubt than to be the focus of very uncomfortable attention.

Symptoms :-

It is possible that an individual with this fear can achieve high levels of success. Simply being a doxophobe does not mean the individual lacks skills. It does mean they will never pormote themselves and they refuse the limelight. So the biggest symptoms is avoidance of situations in which they will be praised, or prodded for their opinion.The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, dread and anything associated with panic such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, inability to articulate words or sentences, dry mouth and shaking. .
