Chronomentrophobia is the fear of clocks or watches. The origin of the word chrono is Greek (meaning time) ment is Latin meaning means of and phobia is Greek meaning fear. Chronomentrophobia is considered to be a specific phobia. The fear of clocks is known as chronomentrophobia when someone has an aversion to clocks. It may signify a deeper fear the fear of mortality.Anxiety about schedules, punctuality, and other concerns can be a part of chronomentrophoba. 
People with this phobia will avoid having clocks in their home enviroment, and they may choose to check the time in other ways. Chronomentrophobia, the fear of clocks, is the situation wherein an individual has an irrational aversion to clocks.

What are the causes?
It is generally accepted that phobias arise from a combination of external events (i.e. traumatic events) and internal predispositions (i.e. heredity or genetics). Many specific phobias can be traced back to a specific triggering event, usually a traumatic experience at an early age. Social phobias and agoraphobia have more complex causes that are not entirely known at this time. It is believed that heredity, genetics, and brain chemistry combine with life-experiences to play a major role in the development of phobias

Symptoms:-
The symptoms of this phobia may include feelings of malaise when someone is around clocks. They may feel panicky and need to leave a place where clocks are present. The ticking of clocks can be a source of great irritation to those with chronomentrophobia.the symptoms vary by person depending on their level of fear. The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, dread and anything associated with panic such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, inability to articulate words or sentences, dry mouth and shaking.
