Arithmophobia is the fear of numbers. Some people may just fear certain numbers, such as the number thirteen. The origin of the word arithmo is Greek meaning number and phobia is Greek meaning fear Arithmophobia is considered to be a specific phobia. Arithmophobia is also known as 'numerophobia'. Having a fear of numbers has an adverse effect on the persons who suffer from it. The fear of numbers is one of the more obscurities and is brought about by a rational and illogical fear, as are most phobias.
It hampers them from carrying on with their normal day to day activities. People who suffer from the fear of numbers find it difficult to learn anything that is related to arithmetic and mathematics. These fears are generally termed as phobias, and can range from a fear of heights, closed places, darkness and many other things. One of these phobias is Arithmophobia, which is basically a persistent and abnormal fear of numbers and has caused lots of people unnecessary stress.
Arithmophobia is a condition that is known by several other names like numerophobia and fear of numbers. Arithmophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little or no actual danger. It is also called as fear of numbers.
The fear of numbers is a factor that makes had a lot harder for many people suffering from it to learn mathematics and arithmetic properly. It is a condition where the brain simply cannot get around a number of figures and becomes frustrated and anxious because while they may want to achieve more, they find that there is a hidden obstacle in the way and this is that irrational fear. One can easily discern the mean meaning of Artithmophobia as the fear of numbers. It can manifest itself in several forms such as a fear of a specific number or activities that involve numbers.
Arithmophbia can be treated if a person who has the phobia realizes the fact that the fear and resultant anxiety can be managed and possibly eradicated. Arithmophobia is an intense fear of something that poses little or no actual danger. While adults with arithmophobia realize that these fears are irrational, they often find that facing, or even thinking about facing, the feared situation brings on a panic attack or severe anxiety.
Symptoms:-
As with any phobia, the symptoms vary by person depending on their level of fear. The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, Breathlessness, dizziness, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, feeling sick, shaking, heart palpitations, inability to think clearly, a fear of dying, becoming mad or losing control, a sensation of detachment from reality or a full blown anxiety attack.
Treatment:-
There are some drugs available in the drug market that helps you overcome arithmophobia. However, these drugs come associated with some side effects and withdrawal symptoms that can be rather severe. This is why taking these drugs to cure arithmophobia is not worth it. Moreover, these drugs don't actually cure the sufferer from Arithmophobia. They only suppress the condition and symptoms temporarily through its chemical reactions.

Hypnoanalysis (Hypnotherapy) is a type of therapy by which a person, with the assistance of a trained specialist, has his/her subconscious mind opened to suggestion for the purpose of changing one or more behavior patterns.
